Educational content can be described as content that teaches people something or helps answer one of their questions. Having a blog is a great way to consistently provide your readers (and search engine surfers) with new, informative content. The articles are typically short and have key takeaways or downloadable resources attached to them. These types of resources make great pages for other sites to link to. Google is getting smarter and smarter every year. Search engines have changed a lot and they don’t just focus on key phrases, but also the overall meaning of your content. You have to create content that covers the general meaning to get better ranking and more organic traffic. Canonicalizing a page is a way of telling Google that this URL is the “master version” you’d like to display in search results. This is helpful in duplicate content situations because Google certainly picks up on them. As Google continues to prioritize the user experience in its algorithm, this data can become critical. It’s one thing to provide a list of items that generally lead to a better user experience (like we did above), but it’s another thing completely to be able to address extremely specific elements of that experience.

Make sure your site is spiderable

There is an old adage used by webmasters which sum up most successful websites, “content is king”. It’s important to keep this in the forefront of your mind before adding or removing the copy from your site. Web users surf the net in search of answers, information, products, and entertainment. They will leave a site very quickly if it doesn’t give them what they want. It’s hard to imagine that just 10 years ago, SEO was a discipline governed by blackhat marketers whose sole objective was to increase rankings and drive traffic. Long story short—it wasn’t pretty, and Google didn’t like it. Reviews are an important factor for SEO. They help potential customers trying to decide whether to trust you. If your local business has a Google+ page and is marked on Google Maps, you need to have reviews. The best thing you can do is encourage your customers to leave reviews if they’re satisfied with your service. Try offering them an incentive, such as a small discount if they click on a link and leave a review. Google has become tremendously more sophisticated about the signals that it does consider when it comes to applying relevance of keywords to a particular site.

Setting up an internal linking strategy

The best way to secure high quality links is by creating strong content that sources will naturally want to connect their readership to. Google’s algorithms are always changing and updating, and increasingly there is more and more focus on the user — with the search engines favouring quality content over poorly written, keyword-stuffed pages. Check archive.org (Wayback Machine) or Screenshots.com to make sure the website has a clean history, particularly its most recent history. This has happened to me a couple times, so I look out for it now. If at any point it looks like the domain was home to a PBN site (private blog network), avoid it at all costs. It may have a pure spam penalty! So in the post Penguin era, 5 or 6 links from relevant low PR but high DA sites are much better than 10-15 backlinks from irrelevant high PR and low DA sites.

Toxic links and their cure

Unique content signifies quality. It’s no secret that search engines have changed the way we search, find, and do business online. They seem to magically sort through countless web pages, find answers to your questions, and deliver results to your searches in a snap. But how do they do it? By using a few complex steps to deliver results that answer or match your search: Crawling, indexing, ranking and delivering. The reason that most SEOs don’t know technical SEO is because they don’t spend enough time meeting and talking to web developers. According to SEO Consultant, Gaz Hall: "For experienced marketing teams, the content creation process has become a high-level assembly line."

Search Engine Marketing is hyped

Search engine optimization is a sure way to boost your site rankings on search engines if you know exactly how to go about it. You are sure to benefit from taking the advice in this article. Each tip has been tested by those who have succeeded in reaching the rankings they were shooting for. Realize that meta keywords are only used by your competitor to see what you want to rank for. Google still doesn’t use them. Find a bad hosting provider, install WordPress on a crappy shared hosting program, activate thirty plugins and upload a hundred non-optimized images to your blog and you are well on your way to a bad score. The meta description is what appears as the description of a blog post in search engine results. This is the text that people will use to determine whether or not your post contains the information they are looking for.
