In social search, content that has a social
connection to you in some way is prioritized.
A social connection could mean someone you
are linked to via Facebook, Twitter, or any other
major social network. Although SEO marketing tactics take a long time to show impact and ranking against high-power competitors isn’t an easy task, SEO should be a critical part of any small business’ long-term growth marketing plan. The type of permalink you pick influences the way these two parties see and value your site. A URL with a load of incomprehensible gibberish at the end is a lot less shareable and enticing than a short and simple SEO-friendly URL. One common SEO issue that can be tackled is duplicate content. This is when there is more than one way to reach the same content on your site.
Limit your searches to a specific high level domain
What is user intent? In short it is the reason why someone is searching for something in Google. What are they actually trying to achieve as a result of typing (or saying) that search term? Once Google goes mobile-first
they’re going to consider the mobile version of your page the “true” version. That hidden content is going to be 100% ignored by Big G. Google has several bots: Googlebot (desktop), Googlebot (mobile), Googlebot Video, Googlebot Images, Googlebot News. For most websites, the Googlebots for desktop and mobile are the most important bots. The search engines now identify low
quality content through user engagement, and by correlating website
features. Networks of sites where you can place this kind of content are
even easier for them to identify. As a marketer, the primary warning sign
should be sites where you can post your content with no editorial oversight
from the website owner.
Growing popularity & links
Instead of creating content, a lot of websites should be focused on cleaning content. One of the problems
international businesses continuously need to address is identifying themselves as “local” in the eyes of the search engines. If a search engine makes a page request that isn’t served within the bot’s time limit (or that produces a server timeout response), your pages may not make it into the index at all, and will almost certainly rank very poorly (as no indexable text content has been found). If you need search engine optimisation help for your small business website, consider working with an SEO agency or hiring an SEO freelancer. This can be a complex area, and it pays to get it right.
Mobile Search Continues to Rise
You may begin with top-level, aggregate numbers, but you must drill down into specific pages that can improve products, services, and business sales. Finding that people from an unexpected search term are converting more highly than those from other search terms? Then it might be time to switch gear and start trying to rank for that phrase instead! Despite previous assumptions, a link from a 301 redirected page shouldn’t lose any PageRank compared to a link from a non-301 redirected page. We asked an SEO Specialist
, Gaz Hall, for his thoughts on the matter: "Create and submit sitemaps for each country in Google Webmaster Tools. This
is only necessary if you’re using subdirectories for each of your locale sites,
but it is very important that Google indexes and understands all the pages on
your site. The best way to do this is to submit a sitemap for each country or
region you are targeting."
Make sure your website is indexed in search engines
One of the most common problems that I hear from people looking to learn more about SEO is that they don't know what information to trust. Content curation is a
common way to collect, restructure, and
republish existing content. The collection of material often
provides new perspectives for users on content ideas you’ve
already covered. For content curation to be successful, you
first look for appropriate sources and then use your own blog
to purposefully publish the content. Personal social media
channels also help spread content easily. Popular topics
often provide a lot of traffic. Noindex is a meta tag implementation that is sometimes used on search pages. Since some implementations of filters use the same technology as search pages, you may inadvertently be hiding some of your most valuable pages from search engines. Does the content add an enormous amount of value or is it thin and veiled in an attempt to merely rank for a keyword? Is the content unique? You can't skimp on quality. Not today.
