If your site uses a lot of imagery, consider adding a Pin It button to allow Pinterest users to easily add images to their boards. For sites with lots of high-quality product, inspirational or instructional images, Pinterest can be a major driver of traffic - especially given that every Pin and Repin of your image includes a link back to your site. The faster your site, the more Google will favor it. There’s a very useful tool from Google itself to check your site speed: Google PageSpeed Insights. This tool gives you an overview of what aspects need improvement to boost the speed of a particular page. You want to make sure the pages of your website provide great value and are optimized for the keywords you want to rank for. Of course, it is important to have a mobile-friendly website as well. You can also build a reasonable idea of how many links you need, and how authoritative, in order to compete. To check out your competitors’ links, you can search for their most popular URLs with the link: command in Google. If you want to go further, use one of the many backlink tools to search for the most influential links – a good starting point is Open Link Profiler which gives you a lot of data for free.
Nobody likes ugly URLs
If you're willing to vouch for links added
by third parties (e.g. if a commenter is trusted on your site), then
there's no need to use nofollow on links; however, linking to sites
that Google considers spammy can affect the reputation of your
own site. Before you publish, please proofread! Google doesn’t like spelling or grammar errors. Oh and don’t try to hide your keywords by, for example, placing them behind images because Google is much smarter than that. If you’re trying to build backlinks by pushing sponsored content, it has to explicitly say “Sponsored” on it. Updating content across a site should be a priority as Google rewards fresher content for certain searches.
Relevance is the key issue for video search
If you optimize your meta descriptions with clear and attractive extracts on what potential visitors can find on your site, it becomes easier for them to see if the information they’re looking for is on that page. It used to be that buying backlinks as you could was a successful means of boosting your organic search results. But today, it’s definitely not good to buy them in big packages. Google has declared that if you buy bulk backlinks to improve your rankings, you're breaching their guidelines. Don't limit your ideas; brainstorm whatever subjects and phrases could lead the kinds of visitors you want to your site. Type them into a spreadsheet. Your brainstorming will "prime the keyword pump." A good place to look for keywords is your internal site search. Offering visitors a search box within your site is good for users but also good for you, because it collects search query data.
How Can I Create Engaging, Trustworthy Content?
Google can’t depend on social media signals from platforms it doesn’t own and that are run by competitors like Facebook. To ensure consistently high quality, business owners and digital marketers need to adopt a long-term content strategy that boosts a website’s search engine ranking and keeps it there. Good content plays a crucial role here. The content on your blog or website is the digital salesperson in the organization, and should follow the same brand values and guidelines. Gaz Hall, a Freelance SEO Consultant, commented: "When it comes to out-competing competitor pages, you are going to have to look at what the top competing page is doing when it comes to main content text. Chances are – they have some unique text on the page"
AJAX and Single Page Applications (SPAs)
The increasing dominance of visual content online has brought with it new opportunities for increasing a site’s search traffic by optimizing videos and images. Search engines simply want to deliver the most relevant results to their users based on search queries. A negative SEO strategy involves crawling a website. This “forceful” crawling of the website puts strain on the web server, causing the website to slow down or even crash. Duplicate content is your website’s worst enemy. Google is very serious about penalizing websites with duplicate content, descriptions or titles.
